Bernoulli's principle

Bernoulli's principle, also called Bernoulli effect or Bernoulli theorem, is a principle in hydrodynamics. It says -

An increase in the velocity of a stream of fluid results in a decrease in pressure.

This theorem in named after Swiss mathematician Daniel Bernoulli (1700 - 1782) who discovered it.
