Bimal Bhowmick
Biman Bhowmick was a revolutionary freedom fighter during British rule in India. He was born 1918 at rangpur now in Bangladesh. He was son of Abala Mohan Bhowmick. As freedom fighter, hew was connented with Jugantar Party. British government arrested him for participating in revolutionary activities and convicted to 6 years of rigorous impresoment under Arms Act in 1934, and then deported to the Cellular Jail, Andamans. During his trial, the police not only harrased his family but also caused extensive damage to his house. He participated in the second hunger strike in Andaman jail. He was ultimately released in 1939. His total jail period was more than 5 years.Nearby pages
