Bird's-foot trefoil

Bird's-foot trefoil, also birdsfoot trefoil, is a small plant of the pea family. It grows triple pods that resemble the feet of a bird, hence its name. It bears leaves consisting of three leaflets, and yellow flowers streaked with red. Its botanical name is 'Lotus corniculatus' belonging to the family 'Leguminosae'.
