Bird's-nest orchid

Bird's-nest orchid is a European woodland orchid plant of yellowish-brown colour. It lacks chlorophyll and derives nutrients from a soil-dwelling fungus to which it links its nestlike mass of thick roots. Its botanical name is Neottia nidus-avis, and the family Orchidaceae.
