Black Watch
Black Watch was the name given to two Highland regiments, the 42nd and 73rd, of Scotland, so called from the dark colour of the tartan. From 1881 to 1931 it was called The Black Watch (Royal Highlanders). From 1931 to 2006, it was called The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment). It is the 3rd Battalion of Royal Regiment of Scotland (3 SCOTS), and part of the Scottish Division for administrative purposes from 1967 to 2017. Since 2017, it has been part of the Scottish, Welsh and Irish Division for administrative purposes.Nearby pages
