Blaze

Blaze is a bright fire fiercely burning, typically a very large one. It is also a display of very bright light or colour, or a publicity in a big way. The term blazes is sometimes used informally for hell, such as go to blazes. In this sense of the term it is used in reference to the flames associated with hell. A mark on a tree made by cutting the bark to indicate route is also called a blaze, and also the broad white stripe running the length of a horse's face, or the white stripe or spot on a mammal's or bird's face.
