Bloater

Bloater is a cured herring, a fish, typically by salting and light smoking. Bloater is also a whitefish of the freshwater, also called cisco, found in northern countries, notable as food fish, and most of the species, including Coregonus, are migratory. It belongs to the family Salmonidae. Most notable of the species are the 'lake cisco' (Coregonus artedii) of North America, and Arctic cisco (Coregonus autumnalis) of the northern North America and the northern Eurasia.
