Blue-green algae

Blue-green algae, also known as Cyanobacteria, are a division of microorganism, the earliest known form of life on the earth. Though these are related to bacteria, are capable of photosynthesis. These are prokaryotic, ie unicellular organisms lacking a nuclear membrane-enclosed nucleus. These belong to the class Cyanophyceae, and the kingdom Eubacteria.
