Brihaspati
Brihaspati was the preceptor of the gods in the Hindu mythology. He was the son of Rishi Angira by his wife Khyati. He was married to Tara and was father of Kach.Brihaspati, on one occasion, when he was returning from a bath in the Ganga, found his wife Tara with Chandrama. He threw his dripping robe at him and hit him in the face, thus causing the spots that are still to be seen there on the moon.
Brihaspati, once possessed Mamata, the wife of his brother Utathya. At that time she was pregnant. The child in the womb asked him not to, but Brihaspati went ahead. Angry on his conduct, the child in the womb kicked the seed out, upon which Brihaspati cursed him to be born blind. The child was born but both the Mamata and Brihaspati refused to take the responsibility to take care of him. The child was therefore looked after by the Maruts. The child was named Vitath, and was handed over by the Maruts to the childless king Bharat upon his prayer to them to grant an heir. The child was later known as Bharadvaj.
