Cesar Chavez

Cesar Chavez (1927-1993) was a US labour rights activist. He was National Farm Workers Association head. He worked on behalf of migrant farm workers. He began by helping Mexican Americans with immigration authorities, welfare boards and police. He organized grape strike from 1965 to 1970 and advocated non-violence. He is often called "the Messiah of the Mexican American civil rights movement."
