Chu Hsi

Chu Hsi (1130-1200) was Chinese philosopher. He was leading Neo-Confucian philosopher and official, key formulator of Neo-Confucian theory, as such, considered the most notable philosopher of his time and largely responsible for preserving the Confucian tradition in the face of the highly popular Buddhist and Taoist teachings. He is known for his commentaries on the Four Books of Confucianism.
