Cisalpine Gaul
Cisalpine Gaul was a territory occupied by Gauls on the Italian or south side of the Alps. The region was named so during the 4th and 3rd centuries BC, which was inhabited by Celts, corresponding to what is now most of northern Italy. It was a Roman province from c. 81 BC until 42 BC, when it was de jure merged into Roman Italy as planned by Julius Caesar.Nearby pages
