Dadan Hill

Dadan Hill is in Goalpara district of Assam in India. The hillock is famous for a Shiva Temple on its top, which was established by Dadan, one of the General of King Bana of Sonitpur. It is situated on the bank of river Dariduri. A stone resembling and elephant is there on the bank of the river.

It is believed that the General, a devotee of Lord Shiva, killed a wild elephant with his sword on this spot which came often and disturbed him in his meditation. The stone resembling the stone is believed by the common people to be that elephant.

The whole area is thickly forested and has several rivers and waterfalls. The area is inhabited mainly by the people of the Rabha community, who come to worship in the temple.
