Dand

Dand was a son of king Ikshvaku in Hindu mythology. He once ravished Arja, the daughter of the sage Shukracharya who cursed him and his kingdom to be destroyed within seven days. Due to the curse, his kingdom was destroyed, and the area became a forest came to be known as Dandak forest, now in modern Madhya Pradesh in India.
