Danu

Danu was a Gandharva in Hindu mythology. He was a son of Kashyap by his wife Pradha. As per the story told in the Ramayana, he once offended Indra, who in anger cursed him to change into a monster. Since then, the very handsome Danu changed into an ugly monster. In the form of a monster, he was known by the name Kabandh. When Lord Ram and his brother Lakshman were roaming in the forest in search of Sita, they had to fight with Kabandh. The brothers ultimately killed him, and thus Kabandh was relieved from Indra's curse.

Danu had a daughter named Pramadvara, who he had begotten on the beautiful Apsara Menka. Sthulkesh, a sage, had adopted Pramadvara in her childhood.
