Dionysus
Dionysus, in Greek mythology, is the god of the vine or wine. He is the son of Zeus and Semele, the "twice born," as plucked first from the womb of his dead mother and afterwards brought forth from the thigh of Zeus, which served to him as his "incubator." He was a god of the fertility of nature associated with wild and ecstatic religious rites. However, according to later traditions, he is god of wine who loosens inhibitions and inspires creativity in music and poetry. His Roman equivalent is
Bacchus.
