Edward Robert

Edward Robert (1831-1891), Earl of Lytton, also Edward Robert Lytton Bulwer-Lytton, was an English statesman and novelist, under the nom de plume of Owen Meredith. He entered the diplomatic service at an early age, became viceroy of India in 1876, and ambassador at Paris in 1892.
