Extreme Event

Extreme even is a term for an event, which has a very low annual exceedance probability (AEP), such as the extreme environmental phenomena breaking earlier records. Sometimes defined as an event beyond the credible limit of extrapolation and therefore dependent on the length of record and the quality of the data available.
