Francis Cowley Burnand

Francis Cowley Burnand (1836-1917), usually known as Sir F C Burnand, was an English journalist, writer and playwright. He was editor of Punch. He studied for the Church, and became a Roman Catholic. He was an expert at the burlesque, and author of a series of papers, entitled "Happy Thoughts," which give evidence of a most keen, observant wit.
