Franz von Sickingen
Franz von Sickingen (1481-1523) was a German free-lance, a man of a knightly spirit and great prowess. He had often a large following, Götz von Berlichingen of the number, and joined the cause of the Reformation. He lost his life by a musket-shot when besieged in the castle of Landstuhl.
