Frédérick Bastiat

Frédérick Bastiat (1801-1850), an eminent French political economist, born at Bayonne. He was a disciple of Cobden's. He was a great advocate of Free Trade. He wrote on behalf of it and against Protection, "Sophismes Economiques". He was also a zealous Anti-Socialist, and wrote against Socialism.
