Freiburg
Freiburg, also spelled Fribourg, are the names of1. A Swiss canton between Bern and Vaud, and having three esclaves in the latter. The population consists chiefly of French Catholics. It is hilly. Dairy-farming, watchmaking, and straw-plaiting are the chief industries.
2. Capital of the canton, is situated on the Saane, 19 miles South-West of Bern. The river is spanned by a suspension bridge, and there is an old Gothic cathedral with one of the finest-toned organs in Europe.
