Hans Kund

Hans Kund is name of a pond at Kedarnath in Uttarakhand state of India. It is situated near Kedarnath temple. It derived its name from a bird Hans, the form Lord Brahma, the god of creation, had once acquired. This pond is popular among the people for performing the ritual of offering water to deceased ancestors. They also perform Pinddan, a ritual for the dead.
