Hissar

Hissar, also spelled Hisar, is a district in the state of Haryana in India. For the most part it is sandy, yet in rainy years produces good crops of rice, barley, &c., and is noted for its white cattle. Hisar is its capital city from which it derives its name. It is situated on the Western Yamuna Canal, 102 miles west of of Delhi.
