Hughes Mearns

Hughes Mearns (1875 - 1965), full name William Hughes Mearns was a US educator and poet. As an educator, he encouraged the natural creativity of children, especially those aged 3-8 years, in most innovative ways. He is remembered now as the author of the poem "Antigonish" (or "The Little Man Who Wasn't There"). "Creative Youth" 1925, and "Creative Power" 1929 were his two most influential books that influenced generations of scholars.
