Inkermann

Inkermann was a small Tartar village East of Sebastopol harbour. It was the scene of a battle between the Russians and allied forces, to the defeat of the former after a prolonged struggle on 5th November 1854.

The present city of this name in the Crimean peninsula derives its name from this village. It is de facto part of Sevastopol, Russia, but de jure part of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Ukraine.
