Isambard Kingdom Brunel

Isambard Kingdom Brunel (1806-1859) was a British civil and mechanical engineer, son of Sir Isambard Brunel. He assisted his father in his engineering operations, in particular the Thames tunnel. He was engineer of the Great Western Railway. He designed the Great Western steamship, the first to cross the Atlantic. He was also the first to apply the screw propeller to steam navigation, designed and constructed the Great Eastern, and constructed bridges and naval docks.
