Jean Friedrich Oberlin
Jean Friedrich Oberlin (1740 – 1826), popularly known as J F Oberlin, was a benevolent Alsatian Protestant pastor, born at Strasburg in Germany. He laboured all his life at Ban de la Roche, a wild mountain district of Alsace in France, and devoted himself with untiring zeal to the spiritual and material welfare of the people, which they rewarded with their pious gratitude and warmest affection.Nearby pages
