Judah ha-Levi

Judah ha-Levi (c. 1075-1141), full name Yehuda ha-Levi or Yehuda Halevi, was a Spanish Hebrew poet and theologian. He is considered as the finest Hebrew poet of the Middle Ages who developed a new genre of poetry. He wrote about the need for return to Zion and authored Kuzari in defense of Judaism.
