Kadapa

Kadapa, also spelled Cuddapah, is a town in Andhra Pradesh in India. It is the headquarters town of YSR district. which was known as Kadapa district before 2010, The city was nicknamed Gadapa (which means 'Threshold') because it is the gateway from the west to the sacred hills of Tirumala, which is known for its connections to Venkateswara Swamy. The word Gadapa, afterwards became Kadapa.

It is located at about 412 kilometres (256mi) south of Hyderabad and is 8 kilometres (5.0mi) south of the Penna River. The city is surrounded on three sides by the Nallamala and Palakonda hills.
