Kalpeshwar is in Uttarakhand state of India. It is a famous centre of pilgrimage, and is one of the five Kedars (Panch Kedar). It is located at a height of 2134 metres above sea level. There are many stories attached to this place. However, it became famous for the mythological story of ((Kedarnath)). According to this legend, the Lord Shiv's locks were reappeared at this place. The other legends tell us about the stories of the Apsara called Urvashi and about the sage Durvasa. It is believed that once there was a tree at this place called Kalpvriksha (the Wishing tree). This place partially derived its name (Kalp) from this legend and partially from the Ishwar (god or master) of this land. Visitig this place needs a travel of about one kilometre in a cave.
