Kanhaiyasthan is in Sahibganj district of Jharkhand in India. It is situated at about 13 kms north west of Rajmahal town. This small village situated on the bank of the river Ganges, derives its name from a temple of Lord Krishna. Kanhaiya is one of his epithet. It is believed that Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the great devotee of Lord Krishna (Hari), once stayed here. He was on his way to Brindaban from Bengal. It is here, people believe, Chaitanya Mahaprabut saw Lord Krishna appeared before him. People also make it a point to see the footstep of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, which has been preserved here.
