KARL THEODOR KÖRNER

KARL THEODOR KÖRNER (1791-1813), a German soldier poet, often called the German Tyrtæus, born in Dresden; famous for his patriotic songs and their influence on German patriots; fell in a skirmish with the French at Mecklenburg.
