Khamba and Memba

Khambas and Membas are tribes of India who live in Arunachal Pradesh, a state of the Union. They inhabit northern part of West Siang. A member of Khambas is called Khamba and of Membas is called Memba. Polyandry is prevalent among both the communities. Howerver, it is more in vogue among the Membas. They depend for their livelyhood on agricultural activities. Millet and Maize are their staple food . They also grow cotton and barle. They are Buddhist by religion.
