Khamti is a tribe of India. This community lives mainly in Arunachal Pradesh. They also include Khamyang tribe. Khamtis are believed to have migrated from the Shan states of Burma. They have their own language and script. In fact, they are the only tribe in Arunachal who have a script of their own. They are follow Buddhism ( Hinayana cult). They bury the dead in a coffin.
