Mahadev Kona is in Gumla district of Jharkhand in India. It is famous for Shiv Temple. There are numbers of Shiv Lings. If a devotee wants to reach Shiv Sthali, there is no way but after riding on other Shiv Lings. It is situated at about only two kms away from Gumla town. It is on Tirra Hill in Basia block. It is a small hamlet on the bank of South Koyal river surrounded by many hills. There are ruins of very old temple that was believed to be constructed before Mahabharat period. This Shiv temple was constructed of stones. Murhar Chandi and ancient Durga Mandir are also at Brahmin tola. Murhar Pahar and Murhar Manda (cave) are also worth visiting. It is said that the cave has an underground passage to Palkot. Great cave of Bhutkuria Tungri, Remains of queen Lukpail , JALKUND (Uper Jhariya, Niche Jhariya and Bagh duba), and ruins of old palace are other attractions.
