Miguel de Unamuno

Miguel de Unamuno (1864 - 1936), full name Miguel de Unamuno y Jugo (the first or paternal surname is Unamuno and the second or maternal family name is Jugo) was a Spanish essayist, novelist, poet, playwright, and philosopher. He was professor of Greek and Classics and later became rector at the University of Salamanca. His major philosophical essay was "The Tragic Sense of Life" (1912) and his most famous novel was "Abel Sánchez: The History of a Passion" (1917).
