Mwanga II

Mwanga II (c. 1866-1903) was a Bugandan king who succeeded his father in 1884. His rule was marked by dissension and violence. Catholics, Protestants and Muslims ousted him by force but regained throne after four-years of civil war. He led rebellion to drive British out of Buganda in 1894. He was eventually deposed and captured in 1898 and exiled to Seychelles Islands.
