Nebuchadnezzar II
Nebuchadnezzar II (c. 630 — 562 BC) was king of Babylon during 605 — 562 BC. In 586 BC, he captured and destroyed Jerusalem, and drove many of the Israelis into the Babylonian Captivity. He rebuilt the city of Babylon with massive walls, a huge temple, and a ziggurat. He extended his rule over neighbouring countires. Nebuchadnezzar II was succeeded by his son
Belshazzar.
