Pierre de Beaumarchais

Pierre de Beaumarchais (1732 — 99), full name Pierre Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais, was a French playwright. The comedies — "The Barber of Seville" (1775) and "The Marriage of Figaro" (1784) — are among his most noteworthy plays.
