Roy Bean

Roy Bean (c. 1825 — 1903), also known as Judge Roy Bean, was a US frontiersman, who named himself justice of the peace in 1882 in Val Verde, literally "green valley", which later in 1885 became a county in Texas, a state in the United States. He held his court there in his saloon named the Jersey Lilly after the British actress Lillie Langtry (1853 — 1929), the mistress of the Prince of Wales who later became Edward VII.
