Sangha

Sangha is the name given to the Buddhist Church, and the third term of the Triratna (the Three Jewels) or Buddhist trinity, the two other being Buddha and Dharma, his law. The term Sangha means the Buddhist community of monks, nuns, and lay Buddhists people, unto which a Buddhist take refuge for support and guidance on the path to enlightenment.

The Buddhist refuge prayer - Buddham Sharanam Gacchami, Dhammam Sharanam Gacchami, Sangham Sharanam Gacchami - means "I take refuge in the Buddha, I take refuge in the Dhamma (the path to end the human suffering), and I take refuge in the Sangha".
