Sir Samuel White Baker

Sir Samuel White Baker (1821-1893) was an English man of enterprise and travel, born in London. He discovered the Albert Nyanza, commanded an expedition under the Khedive into the Soudan, and wrote an account of it in a book, "Ismailia". He visited Cyprus and travelled over India. He left a record of his travels in five volumes with different titles.
