Smoky City

Smoky City was an epithet used between late 18th Century to mid-20th Century for Pittsburg, a city in Pennsylvania, in the United States, from the effect produced by the bituminous coal used in the manufactories. The city is still rated as one of the worst polluted city in the United States.
