Southeast Asia

Southeast Asia is the south-eastern part of the Asia continent. It consists of the countries that are geographically south of China, east of India and north of Australia.

The region is known for heavy seismic and volcanic activity and the reason being it lies on the intersection of geological plates. It consists of two geographic regions namely the Asian mainland, and island arcs and archipelagoes to the east and southeast.

The mainland consists of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.

The maritime section consists of Brunei, East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore.
