St Aidan
St Aidan (c. 590 - d. 651) was an Irish missionary, the archbishop of Lindisfarne, founder of the monastery, and the apostle of Northumbria. He was sent thither from Iona, where he was a monk, on the invitation of King Oswald in 635.Nearby pages
