St Clare of Assisi

St Clare of Assisi (1194-1253) was an Italian saint and abbess born at Assisi. She is known for founding the order of Poor Ladies of San Damiano called "Poor Clares" in association with St Francis of Assisi. The Feast day in her memory is observed on August 11 every year which was formerly being observed on August 12.
