Teliagarhi is in Sahibganj district of Jharkhand in India. It is important for historical reasons. It is located near Karamtola station. This place derives its name from a Zamindar, a local ruler landlord, who was a Teli by caste. He had built a fort (Garh in local dialect). Therefore, it came to be known as Teliagarhi. The remains of this old fort are there which was built during the reign of Shahjahan. It may be mentioned here that he had later embraced Islam.
