Temesvar

Temesvar was a royal free city of the Kingdom of Hungary, now a city of Romania, on the Bega Canal, 75 miles North-East of Belgrade. It is a strongly-fortified, well-built city, equipped with theatre, schools, colleges, hospitals, &c., and possesses a handsome Gothic cathedral and ancient castle. It manufactures flour, woollens, silks, paper, &c.
