Thomas Ravenscroft

Thomas Ravenscroft (1592-1640) was an English musical composer, born in London. He was a chorister in St. Paul's Cathedral. He composed many part-songs, etc., but is chiefly remembered for his "Book of Psalmes," which he edited and partly composed. Some of the oldest and best known Psalms (e. g. Bangor, St David's) are by him.
